God's Will
Live one day at a time. . . . In fact, there is an important rule for holiness which is steadfast, true, and always fruitful. It is: God's will for us. In the will of God, ever present and personal, we discover the "grace of the moment" which leads to holiness.
Interiority
Our Lord gave me to understand that he prefers the gift of my heart to all exterior gifts I might offer him, even if I were to give him the hearts of everyone else without giving him my own.
His Motivation
I wish to do something great for the glory of God and for the salvation of my brethren.
Suffering
Great works are always founded on the soil of Calvary.
His Eucharistic Vocation
I was suddenly seized by a strong feeling of gratitude and love for Jesus and, as a result, to say to him: what great thing could I do for you? A sweet and peaceful, but strong and stirring thought made me happy to think of devoting myself to the service of the Blessed Sacrament . . . and to press for the establishment of the religious Order of the Blessed Sacrament. . . . I was willing to make any sacrifice for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
The Gift of the Eucharist for God's People
The Eucharist is the life of the people. The Eucharist provides them with a center for their lives. Everyone can gather without the barriers of race or language. . . . The Eucharist gives them a law to live by, the law of love of which it is the source; it creates a bond among them, on Christian family. They all eat the same bread; everyone is a guest of Jesus Christ.
The Congregation
Our Lord has called me to his Eucharistic service in spite of my unworthiness. He has chosen me to work for his Society in spite of my incompetence and my poor health. He has led me from death and by death to the life of the Society. Everything that was thought impossible happened easily and in God's good time. To God alone be love and glory!
Death
The apostle Paul says that we enter into the kingdom of heaven only through many tribulations. At the moment of our death, it will be so good to have had something to suffer for the love of our Lord.
Our Lady
I meditated on the Blessed Virgin's love for me since my childhood. I blessed Our Lady of Laus; . . . the day I took her for my mother, my dear mother died. And since then, so many graces! At her feet in the chapel of Saint-Romans, I asked her that I might one day become a priest. She alone led me by the hand to the priesthood, and then to the Blessed Sacrament.
